Card Reader wont read Xd picture cards

Hi, there just installed kuki 2.8, and like it so far, everything works with next to no tweaking, certainly easier than the ubuntu install I've been using for the last few months.

Only issue (aside from the sound up hotkey which I know is being worked on) is that xd Picture cards aren't recognised in the right hand card reader. The system doesn't try and mount them or anything. WinXP recognises them, but I've yet to find a linux distro that will. The card reader will read my sony memorysticks though.

I have the ZG5 AAO (bios 3310) and the xd card is a 1gb one. I don't have any others to test with.

Hi there, I, too am a Kuki newbie - ditto about liking it so far . . . I am also looking to see how to get XD memory cards recognised.

a bit of googling suggests that no one has been able to get them to work on any distro. There are probably no drivers since its a proprietary format. Although I wouldn't have a clue how to do it I wonder if its possible to use windows drivers with ndiswrapper to get it working?

Ndiswrapper will only work with wifi-drivers afaik...

ah yeah, you're right.

Just spotted the following in my rc.local though

#linpus script for card readers
#/usr/local/sbin/jmb38x_d3e.sh &

which makes me wonder, did the AAO shipped with linpus read xd cards? I'd have thought they should if they had a 5 in 1 reader as part of the hardware.. surely the part of linpus that does it can be made to work in kuki somehow

I may try commenting out the line to see what happens when I have more time

I have shrunk WinXP and installed Kuki with no problem. I cannot access the WinXP partition. Can anyone tell me how to. iphone custom cases
