To replace the menu (xfce menu) panel that should be originally at the top of the page from a terminal try doing the steps in this thread:
https://kuki.me/forum/topic.php?id=239However you could also try hitting the right mousepad button on an empty part of the desktop and try:
Applications>Settings>PanelI have experienced a similar sounding problem a couple of times and my panel returns as soon as I open the panel options.

I tried to click the panel button but as soon as i did the other tabs i opened disappeared and nothing else happened. i was just staring at a desktop and icons, nothing else. no panel bar.... not even hidden.

Please try invoking a terminal with ALT F2
When the terminal opens type the following:
xfce4-panel &
Then type:
disown %xfce4-panelThis should give you a new panel with new preferences (you will have to modify the panel to be like the original panel in the Kuki 2.8 distro or however you had modified it).

problem fixed?
running Jollicloud and Kuki Linux 2.8 final on a AAO ZG5 120gb HD, 1gb ram (labeled by shop as AAO 150 Ab)Posted 1 year ago # -
I've been having the same problems, on and off. (Kuki 2.8)
Menu/System bar having a mind of its own.
Coming and going as it pleases.
So, last night when it disappeared, no biggy, it always come home.
Rather frustratingly it didn't......;-)Followed the above tip using terminal
and alls good in my Kuki world again.
